Classes are ongoing, and we change up the theme and instructional content every 4-8 weeks (see below for upcoming series).

If you’re brand new to belly dance, I ask that you start fresh on the first day of a new series (or as close to it as possible). Please contact me if you have questions/concerns about getting started! I am more than happy to help recommend a class (even if it’s not my own class).

Add dimension to your dance with veil! This series is designed for beginners and inspired by the aesthetic and expressive characteristics of American Cabaret style belly dance. Students can expect to learn basic techniques for holding, manipulating, and wearing their veil while dancing, as well as how to use this beautiful prop to express emotion and set the mood of their dance.

Throughout the series, we will work toward developing a dance to the song “Jemilleh” (a timeless favorite for cabaret style veil) by Armenian-American musician John Bilezikjian.

Veils will be available to borrow in the studio, but please bring one if you can.

Bellydance is a low impact dance form that will help strengthen your core muscles, and train your balance as well as coordination. All are welcome to come to class and find joy in moving to the music of the world!

Drop-in: $15   4-class card: $50

Class cards for this series can be used in any future series. Please purchase thoughtfully, as class cards can be exchanged, but not refunded.

Payment accepted via Check, Paypal, Venmo, or exact change

What to wear to class:
Soft stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely is recommended (yoga pants, fitted top, a hip sash if it makes you feel lovely! etc.). We dance in bare feet, but please feel free to wear flat dance shoes with a soft suede sole, or jazz shoes if you prefer (no street shoes).
